Sr Backend Engineer

Location: India, Hyderabad (Hybrid) / Remote

Work Experience: 5-8 Years

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in backend engineering  building production systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java and its ecosystem  
• Solid experience designing and building REST APIs and backend services.
• Strong grasp of software design principles, testing, and Git-based workflows.
• Understanding of concurrency, performance, and building for scale and reliability.

Nice To Have 

• Familiarity with GraphQL, caching strategies, and distributed systems patterns.
• Experience with observability tooling (metrics, tracing, logging).
• Exposure to AI-driven tooling or the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Experience in discussing data schemas and ETL concepts.

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Job Description:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs in Java.
• Own features end-to-end -from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Design clean, well-documented REST (and/or GraphQL) APIs for internal and external consumers.
• Build integrations with other services using event-driven and asynchronous patterns.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code; participate in and lead code reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability, performance, and observability.
