ServiceNow CMDB / CSDM Implementation Specialist

Location: Remote, India

Work Experience: 8+ years of experience with ServiceNow CMDB and data modeling

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of CSDM framework and CI relationships.
  • Experience with data normalization, reconciliation (IRE), and data governance practices.
  • Familiarity with Service Mapping, Discovery, and integrations.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with architects, developers, and functional teams.
  • ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CIS-CMDB preferred).
  • Experience supporting CMDB data cleanup or transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to enterprise integrations (Flexera, CrowdStrike, etc.).
  • Understanding of ITIL and service-based data structures.
  • Discovery and Service Mapping experience.
  • Improved data quality, completeness, and consistency within CMDB.
  • Increased adoption of CSDM standards across development teams.
  • Reduction in data duplication and reconciliation conflicts.
  • Accurate and scalable service-to-CI relationships.
  • OOB Solution for “Situations” for incident management.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Job Description:

  • Execute and maintain CSDM data models and CI relationships aligned to standards defined by the CMDB Architect.
  • Support the implementation of service mapping structures across business services, technical services, and application layers.
  • Define and apply and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and class structures within the CMDB.
  • Partner with developers and integration teams to ensure accurate data ingestion, transformation, and mapping.
  • Assist in data normalization and reconciliation activities using IRE rules and governance frameworks.
  • Perform data quality reviews, identify gaps, and support remediation efforts.
  • Maintain documentation of data models, relationships, and mapping logic.
  • Participate in governance checkpoints to ensure new enhancements align to CSDM standards.
  • Support ongoing CMDB maturity initiatives (data cleanup, attribute alignment, relationship accuracy).
  • Conversion from legacy Install Status, Operational Status, and Hardware to CSDM Lifecycle Status/Status.
  • What This Role Does NOT Own:
    • Does not define platform architecture or long-term CSDM strategy.
    • Does not replace or duplicate the responsibilities of the CMDB Architect.
    • Focuses on execution, implementation, and data quality - not architecture ownership.
