Sr. Associate – Quality Assurance (SDET)

Location: India, Hyderabad

Work Experience: 6-8 Years

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in Integration Testing, preferably in the Insurance domain.
• Strong experience in Integration Testing.
• Hands-on experience in Python/Java Automation.
• Expertise in File & Data Validation (PDF, XML, JSON, SQL).
• Knowledge of Quality Engineering Practices, Shift-Left Testing, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Experience using AI productivity tools (GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Knowledge of SQL/Database Testing and Cloud Testing.
• Familiarity with PDF/XML validation libraries (PyPDF2, pdfminer.six, lxml, xmlschema).
• Insurance domain knowledge or LOMA certification.
• Good communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Job Description:

Establish & Streamline Testing Process:

• Define and document integration testing strategies and workflows for ECM shared services.
• Standardize test case design, execution, and reporting across teams.
• Implement and maintain continuous integration (CI) pipelines to automate test execution and feedback.

Validation Pointers & Automation Utility Development (Python):

• Design and implement automation (preferably in Python) for end-to-end, integration, and regression testing.
• Build Python utilities to extract and validate text, tables, and metadata from PDFs (using libraries like PyPDF2, pdfminer.six).
• Validate XML structure, schema, and content (using libraries like lxml, xmlschema).
• Develop reusable components for test data management, reporting, and logging.
• Ensure the framework supports validation of XML, PDF, and other document formats.
• Compare XML data with generated PDF content for accuracy and completeness.
• Implement checks for data integrity, formatting, and compliance in both XML and PDF outputs.
• Automate validation of additional formats as required (e.g., JSON, CSV).
• Integrate these utilities into automated test suites and CI pipelines.
• Maintain and update test scripts as requirements evolve.

Develop Quality Gates Early:

• Set up automated quality gates (e.g., code coverage, static analysis, integration test pass rates).
• Enforce entry/exit criteria for integration testing phases.
• Apply shift-left testing practices to catch defects early (e.g., contract testing, API mocks). 

Collaboration with multiple teams:

• Facilitate regular syncs between upstream and downstream teams.
• Gather requirements for new product development and migration projects.
• Ensure test coverage for cross-team integration scenarios.

Continuous Improvement:

• Collect metrics on integration test effectiveness and defect leakage.
• Refine processes and tools based on feedback and lessons learned.

Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work closely with developers, QA, and business analysts to understand requirements and edge cases.
• Document utilities and test cases for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• Analyze root causes of integration defects and update test cases/processes accordingly.
• Promote test data management and environment consistency.
• Encourage early collaboration with developers to clarify integration points.
